Construction centers on 7/8-inch thick worksurfaces with 3/4-inch thick end panels and modesty panels finished in thermally fused melamine for a hardwearing, low-maintenance surface suited to daily business use. Exposed edges are protected with 3mm PVC edge banding that matches the laminate finish and adds durability at points of contact. Drawer fronts use 5/8-inch thick thermally fused melamine, while the drawer boxes are made from 1/2-inch thick black vinyl board with a 1/8-inch bottom panel for a clean interior. Reinforced metal brackets integrated into the desk shell add structural stability, and metal cam locks with connecting pins help support the unit. Integrated wire management grommets route cables through the desktop, and adjustable leveling glides provide up to 1/2 inch of height compensation on uneven floors. The pedestal includes two full-depth file drawers with full-extension ball bearing slides for complete access. Soft-close drawer suspension is standard on all drawers for controlled closing. File drawers accept front-to-back letter filing or side-to-side legal filing, and filing bars are included. A standard core-removable lock cylinder supports master keying or lock replacement without changing the entire unit.
