Conference Tables > Height - 30 in

A conference table is a dedicated shared work surface for boardrooms, executive conference suites, team meeting rooms, and training spaces. It combines a large-format top with a commercial-grade base engineered for daily multi-occupant use. The category divides into single-piece fixed tops and modular segmented systems — the right format depends on room size, typical headcount, and how often the room needs to be reconfigured. A fixed table suits a room with a stable purpose and occupancy; a modular system suits a room that regularly shifts between layouts.

Length follows expected seating count: small 6 to 8 foot tops seat 4 to 6 occupants, medium 8 to 12 foot tops seat 8 to 12, and large 14 to 24 foot tops seat 14 to 24 across a 42 to 48 inch wide surface. Length and width should be checked against the room plan, leaving a minimum of 36 to 42 inches of clear circulation on all sides. A table sized correctly for headcount but oversized for the room leaves too little clearance for chairs and foot traffic behind seated occupants.

A general planning figure is one seat per 24 to 30 inches of table perimeter. Base style directly affects knee clearance — panel or slab bases suit rooms requiring cable concealment, trestle bases open up knee room along the full table length, and X-bases or column bases suit round or compact tops. Chair clearance at each position should be verified against the base footprint before a table is finalized, since a base that looks compact in a rendering can still interfere with knee space at specific seating positions.

Tables built for technology-intensive rooms typically integrate 1 to 3 power and data modules along the centerline. Each module provides 2 to 3 duplex outlets plus 2 to 4 USB ports off a 15-amp circuit. A grommet diameter of 2 to 3 inches handles HDMI, network, and audio cables routed to a floor box. Wiring configuration — factory-wired, dealer-finished, or field-wired — should be matched to the facility's electrical trade scope before installation, since each option shifts different work onto different trades.

High-pressure laminate over an engineered core is the commercial workhorse choice for rooms seating 8 to 16 people, offering scratch and stain resistance suited to daily wiping and coffee cups. Wood veneer over an engineered core suits executive boardroom builds where a warmer, richer finish is the priority. Tempered glass on a metal or wood frame suits a contemporary open-look room. Edge treatment follows the tier — 3mm PVC or ABS on laminate tops, wrapped veneer on higher-end builds. Edge treatment should match the facility's overall finish standard for consistency with other furniture already placed in the room.

Rectangular tops maximize seats per foot and suit boardroom and training use where efficient seating matters most. Racetrack or boat-shaped tops suit video-conferencing rooms, where the radiused end keeps all occupants within a workable camera angle during calls. Round tops suit 4 to 8 person collaborative huddle rooms where conversation, not presentation, is the primary function. Modular trapezoid or rectangular-wedge tops suit multipurpose rooms that need to shift between U-shape, T-shape, or hollow-square arrangements from week to week. Shape selection should follow the room's primary meeting format rather than available floor space alone.

Table length and base style should be checked against room dimensions, the seating plan, and the AV equipment layout. The product page for a given model typically lists available power integration, top surface type, edge banding, and finish options. Finish should be checked against the facility's material standard for consistency across the space. Comparing models on these dimensions together, rather than surface material alone, prevents a table that looks right on paper from creating clearance or AV alignment problems once installed.

Conference tables ship at 150 to 650 pounds depending on length and base, arriving LTL on a pallet with the top crated separately from the base components. A single-piece table installs with two people in 1 to 3 hours; modular systems take 3 to 6 hours given the additional alignment work between sections. White-glove installation is worth considering for 14-foot and larger tops, where alignment and leveling become more demanding and a finished room leaves little room for error. Replacement grommets, power module inserts, and base leveling feet are the typical serviceable components over the table's service life.

Commercial conference tables carry extended structural warranties industry-wide, and we offer a Free Lifetime Warranty unless specifically noted. Coverage extends to the top surface, base structure, power module housing, and edge banding — the components most exposed to daily contact and use in a shared meeting room. Warranty terms should be checked against facility procurement standards and the expected lifecycle of the room, since a boardroom table intended to serve for a decade or more warrants closer review of coverage scope than a short-term project table used for only a few years before renovation.

An ADA-compliant accessible section requires a surface height of 28 to 34 inches and knee clearance of 27 inches high, 30 inches wide, and 19 inches deep at the accessible position. A minimum 30 by 48 inch clear floor space is required adjacent to that seat for wheelchair positioning. Base style at the accessible position must not obstruct the knee clearance zone — this should be confirmed against the facility's ADA compliance plan before the table is finalized, since some base styles that work well elsewhere at the table can block access at a designated accessible seat.
