Racetrack or boat-shaped tops suit video-conferencing rooms, where the radiused end keeps all occupants within a workable camera angle during calls. Round tops suit 4 to 8 person collaborative huddle rooms where conversation, not presentation, is the primary function. Modular trapezoid or rectangular-wedge tops suit multipurpose rooms that need to shift between U-shape, T-shape, or hollow-square arrangements from week to week. Shape selection should follow the room's primary meeting format rather than available floor space alone.

Table length and base style should be checked against room dimensions, the seating plan, and the AV equipment layout.
